The construction of the 50000 ton lithium iron phosphate cathode material project in Hubei is accelerating!

Recently, at the site of Hubei Ruipai New Energy Technology Company's annual production of 50000 tons of lithium iron phosphate positive electrode materials project, the first batch of equipment nitrogen generation devices that entered the site were stably in place.

In September 2024, Dongfeng Hongtai Holdings Group Co., Ltd. released the draft Environmental Impact Assessment Report for the 50000 ton/year lithium iron phosphate cathode material project (Phase I) of Hubei Ruipai New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. on its official website for comments. The project is located in Yujiahu Industrial Park, Xiangcheng District, Xiangyang City, with a total investment of 460 million yuan. It is expected that after the completion and full production of both phases of the project, it can produce 50000 tons of lithium iron phosphate cathode materials annually, achieve an annual operating income of 2.93 billion yuan, pay taxes of 160 million yuan, and create employment for 600 people.

According to the planning and design scheme, the project plans to install equipment in December 2024, and the first phase of the project is expected to be put into operation in December 2025. The total construction period of the project is 12 months.

It is understood that the purpose of this batch of nitrogen devices is to isolate oxygen, create a safe environment for materials, ensure that materials are not oxidized under high temperature conditions, and thus ensure the smooth progress of production. The project is expected to achieve the production target in the northern region by the middle of the year, striving to achieve full production of the project by the end of the year, injecting new vitality into the new energy industry.

At the construction site of the project, construction vehicles carrying equipment entered in an orderly manner, and workers shuttled through them, nervously and orderly carrying out various follow-up work. The roar of mechanical equipment seemed to play a passionate construction movement. In mid to early January, the main structure of the first building in the first phase of the project was topped out. This individual building is positioned as the project analysis and testing center, which is an important and necessary supporting facility to ensure the smooth completion and production of the project as a whole.

It is understood that the core business of the 50000 ton lithium iron phosphate cathode material project is to carry out harmless treatment and resource recycling of retired lithium batteries, achieving a closed-loop value chain for the entire life cycle of power batteries. As a key investment attraction project in the city's new energy and new materials industry chain, the Ruipai project, once fully completed, will play a crucial role in extending, supplementing, and strengthening the new energy and new materials industry chain in our city, and assist in the transformation and upgrading of the automotive industry.

After the completion of the project, it will play a role in extending, supplementing, and strengthening the new energy and new materials industry chain in Xiangyang City. Not only can it fill the gap in the field of "retired" lithium battery processing and resource recycling in Xiangyang City, improve the integrity of the industrial chain, but it can also further expand the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain, strengthen collaborative cooperation between industries, help strengthen emerging industries in Xiangyang City, and promote the development of the economy towards green, low-carbon, and high-quality direction.
