Recently, the Ecological Environment Bureau of Quzhou City officially approved the Quzhou Huayou Cobalt New Materials Co., Ltd.'s new annual processing of 10000 tons of battery regeneration and recycling renovation project, marking the official entry of the project into the substantive construction stage. The total investment of this project is as high as 35.1348 million yuan, further promoting the recycling of waste battery resources.
The project is located at No. 18, Twenty New Road, Quzhou High tech Industrial Park (Phase II), Zhejiang Province, which is within the existing factory area of Quzhou Huayou Cobalt New Materials Co., Ltd. The project will renovate the layout of the original lithium iron phosphate recycling workshop and introduce new production equipment to enhance the processing capacity and efficiency of waste batteries. After the completion of the project, the company will increase its annual capacity to process 10000 tons of waste batteries, with an expected increase in black powder production of 5807.69 tons per year. At the same time, the project will also dismantle by-products such as aluminum crushing materials, miscellaneous copper rice, metal shell waste, and non-magnetic materials, which will be sold as waste to achieve comprehensive resource utilization and maximize value.
Quzhou Huayou Cobalt New Materials Co., Ltd., as a holding subsidiary of Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt Industry Co., Ltd., focuses on the production and research and development of lithium positive electrode material precursors, and has the world's largest cobalt production line. Its main products include battery grade cobalt oxide, ternary precursors for lithium-ion batteries, high-purity cobalt chemicals, copper metal, etc. The newly added annual processing of 10000 tons of battery regeneration and recycling renovation project will further improve the company's closed-loop system for waste battery recycling and significantly enhance the company's market competitiveness.
